Google Trends is opening an API — slowly
The search signal is becoming easier to study, but access remains limited.
Google has introduced an alpha program for a Trends API. It is designed to make search-interest data available through an official interface, with geographic breakdowns. Access is still limited, so publishers building trend workflows need a backup discovery method. For Stupid Pro, it is a useful signal about what people are searching for, never proof that a particular news claim is true.
